Character switching and inventory in Dead of Darkness 2
Announced sections let you switch among up to three characters, exchange items through a shared item box, combine healing items into stronger medkits, and manage inventory weight, while knives, axes, submachine guns, and flamethrowers have no published damage or weight numbers.
Damage numbers and crafting recipes are not published.
What you can plan around
- Character switching
- Some sections let you switch among up to three characters. The announced use is position: puzzles, saving resources, and getting around enemies. It does not say every scene has three playable people.
- Shared item box
- The same feature says a shared item box moves items between those characters. It does not print a slot count.
- Healing
- Ammo and healing items are scarce. Healing items combine into more potent medkits. The recipe, the heal amount, and the inventory cost are not printed.
- Weight
- Inventory weight is there so you stay agile. No kilogram cap or stamina formula is published. The inferred line is only that weight is a limit, not a calculator input.
- Weapon parts
- Weapons upgrade with parts. Damage, status effects, equip load, and attack speed are named as the kinds of differences. None of those columns has a number.
Weapon families, and the empty stat column
| Family | Published number |
|---|---|
| Knives | None |
| Axes | None |
| Submachine guns | None |
| Flamethrowers | None |
eastasiasoft's bullets say the same span, from knives to flamethrowers, plus upgrades. GOG repeats the Steam feature text. A tier list would be a guess.

Before release
The useful decision now is scarcity plus switching: expect to move items through a box, expect healing to be crafted from weaker items, and expect weight to matter. Do not build a loadout ranking until numbers exist. There is no code list in these sources.
